Youth Ministry Support - Hunter
Zach is the Youth Ministry Director at New Vine Church in Maryland. Born and raised in the Newcastle area, he serves on the BYM team as a Youth Ministry Support worker for the Hunter Region. Youth ministry formed a core part of Zach’s faith journey as a young person, and he is passionate about working alongside other local youth ministries and helping young people today engage in these same opportunities.
“Youth ministry was pivotal for my faith. Having passionate leaders that invested into me as a teenager helped me navigate through difficult personal seasons and some of the negative influences that weigh on so many young people. In fact, it was an experience at a youth camp that made me realise that God is actually real and more than just a story I heard on Sunday mornings. It flipped my view of Christianity from something that my parents signed me up for into something real and tangible, and my heart for young people is to see lives changed by the hope that is Jesus.”
Alongside his work in Youth Ministry space, Zach is a trade qualified plumber currently studying Ministry at Morling college. He is also a keen fisherman, but far from a good fisherman. If he’s not in the office, it’s pretty safe to assume he is in a fishing spot so secret that even the fish don’t know about it. He has attended New Vine Church for over 15 years and is now leading some of the ministries that he found so valuable for his own faith journey
